Brief

The FQTS 2021 closing meeting took place from 3 to 5 December at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome, in a context still marked by the pandemic. The initiative concluded a three year training programme for Third Sector leaders in southern Italian regions, with 350 participants from Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily. The overall goal of the programme is to strengthen the southern Third Sector through advanced training, network building and the enhancement of leadership skills. Within this framework, the event in Rome was a crucial moment: bringing everyone together around the topic of shared administration in a very large, complex venue, while ensuring clear wayfinding, smooth flows between areas and a consistent visual connection between programme, spatial set up and the event’s graphic identity.

Idea

The event’s visual identity starts from the existing FQTS identity and scales it up to the architecture, using the sports arena as a large graphic surface. The modular rhythm of the coloured squares, visible in the logo and along the edges of printed items, becomes a recurring code: it marks routes, frames totems, structures indoor signage and appears again in the three dimensional elements. Thanks to the strong, saturated colours, the space takes on an energetic yet controlled atmosphere, helping participants quickly distinguish areas and functions within a very wide venue. A clear sans serif typeface works together with the colour system to keep messages legible from a distance, creating continuity between information supports, directional panels and the overall spatial set up.
