Brief

Antica Fiera della Spina Santa is a historic fair in the Monti Lattari area, relaunched by the local administration after years of inactivity. The event brings together agricultural tradition and popular devotion, highlighting breeders, local farms and typical products. It takes place in Valle delle Noci, in Pimonte, with the ambition of becoming a regular meeting point for the agricultural and livestock sector in the area. The project required a clear identity able to express, in a single mark, the connection between faith, landscape and rural work. The symbol had to work on institutional materials as well as on promotional applications, from posters to installations, providing a solid visual structure that can support the growth of future editions of the fair.

Idea

“Spina Santa” has been translated into a unified symbol that holds together religious memory and the rural landscape. At the centre of the mark, a vertical stroke, a stylised thorn, rises from the fields and ideally links earth and sky, becoming both visual and spiritual focus. Around it develops an elliptical landscape: the Monti Lattari mountains, the church, agricultural terraces and a Neapolitan goat in the foreground, all drawn with soft, rhythmic lines that echo the curves of the fields. The palette of golden yellow, olive green and wine red creates a warm, earthy atmosphere that speaks of harvest, rootedness and the community’s vitality. The Colus serif typeface, in capitals, recalls the language of historic emblems and lends authority to the name of the fair. In the applications, the illustrated landscape extends across the layouts, with the logo as the recognisable core.
